The song “My Crown”, I wrote in the car on a ride home from my Mamaw and Papaw's house. I was feeling stuck. It seemed that everyone around me had my life planned out. I felt as if society and trends tried to control every aspect of my life and would not let me take control once. This song is about me taking back the handlebars on my life. This is me coming out of my shell, finally standing up for myself. This is me trying to love and live my life without being scared of what others think or have to say about me. Feeling pushed to do what others wanted and never given the chance to be me. This song is me taking back “My Crown.” I hope this song will help to inspire others who don’t feel they belong or feel as if they have to be something they are not. To be able to be who they are with no worries, because they deserve that! Everyone does! This song I wrote during the covid shut down summer 2020. I was upset that I could not enjoy summer so I wrote this song. This song gives you the summer vibes and makes you feel happy. I wanted to have something to enjoy while we were going through all of this. Now I hope that anyone listening to this song that it reminds them of summer fun!
